A new professional mode for Facebook profiles allows users to make money using features previously reserved for Facebook Pages. Furthermore, Facebook Pages are getting new features that were previously only available through Facebook Business Suite and third-party apps. Here’s more information about the Facebook updates for businesses and professionals.
New professional mode Facebook profiles
A new professional mode for Facebook profiles in the United States includes revenue earning opportunities and content performance insights.
New methods of making money
The Reels Play bonus program is the first monetization option available with Facebook’s professional mode. This enables eligible creators to profit from the views of qualifying Reels. The program is currently invitation-only, but interested users can sign up to be notified when it becomes more widely available.
Along with the ability to earn money from Reels published on Facebook, the format is receiving several enhancements, including:
- Making a video by combining several clips
- Save a Reel as a draft to finish your reel later
- A lengthened duration of 60 seconds Reel length: 60 seconds
Next year, Facebook intends to expand Reels to more countries.
Pages’ Features Make Their Way to Profiles
Professional mode transforms Facebook profiles into Pages. With this mode enabled, anyone can follow you and view your public content in their feed without having to send you a friend request. You will, however, retain control over who sees the content in individual posts. With each post you create, you can choose whether it is visible to the public or only to your friends. This is being tested with a limited number of profiles in the United States beginning today, with plans to expand to more users soon.
New Facebook page features
Facebook Pages will receive a professional dashboard, which will serve as a central location for administrators to review Page performance and access tools and insights.
Some admins will notice a new unit at the top of their Page’s feed that provides a snapshot of post engagement and follower count in a limited test. The new unit could also demonstrate how to create high-performing content.
Finally, Facebook is testing a new post composer for Pages that includes a number of creator-focused features. The ability to schedule posts, which was previously only available through Facebook Business Suite, will be included in the initial test. With this update, admins can now schedule posts regardless of their existing workflow or the tool or app they’re using.
