Black Adam premiered in New York last night, and we warn you that spoilers are already circulating online. What makes these leaks unique is that the sensitive information is being shared by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson himself.

While Johnson has hinted at a further expansion of the DC Extended Universe in the run-up to Black Adam, which will be released on October 21, he spoke to Entertainment Weekly (below) about how his film aimed to be the beginning of a new era. The Justice Society of America, which includes Atom Smasher, Doctor Fate, Cyclone, and Hawkman, was already confirmed to appear, but the post-credit scene of Black Adam introduces another character, and it’s a big one.

Warning: spoilers ahead for Black Adam

The scene, as seen by press attending the film’s premiere, features Black Adam confronting Superman, who is once again played by Henry Cavill. When asked by Entertainment Tonight if there would be more Superman films in the works, Johnson hinted that Cavill would return to the DCEU.

“This is what I can tell you, “He explained. “Black Adam’s entire goal and initiative was to build out the DC universe by introducing not only Black Adam, but the entire [Justice Society of America].” Five new superhero characters in one film, and – as I’ve always said – there’s an ethos at Seven Bucks that we always put the fans first. The audience always comes first.

It’s unclear whether Cavill will return as Superman in full or just for a cameo, but Johnson has been vocal about an eventual crossover between the two characters, promising that they will “absolutely” fight in an upcoming film.
